VITAL HOME REPAIRS
HAVE YOU HEARD OF THE PEOPLES FUND at Great Lakes Energy?

These funds will build upon the Otsego County United Way Tool Time program. This program is contrived of senior volunteers that complete “honey-do” projects for low-income elderly or disabled individuals. HOwever, sometimes projects cannot be completed because it is not within OCUW’s volunteers capacity or income constraints. Completing these vital projects assists the elderly and/or disabled population maintain their independence and remain in their own homes. The $2,500 grant allows the Tool Time program to award scholarships to individuals for repairs that would not be possible without this funding.
Tool Time works closely with community partners such as the Commission on Aging, Habitat for Humanity, Veterans Services and 211 for program referrals and resources. The grant provided by the Great Lakes Energy People Fund will allow this team effort to strengthen and grow for the benefit of our community.
Members of Great Lakes Energy support the People Fund by voluntarily rounding up their bills to the next highest dollar amount. The rounded up amount is distributed to non-profit organizations and charitable activities that benefit people in communities served by the cooperative.
